Spoken Poetry Slam – Culture & Hip-hop Collide at The Queen

May 14 @ 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

Every SECOND Tuesday of the month!

Spoken Word is poetry intended for onstage performance, rather than exclusively designed for the page. While often associated with hip-hop culture, it also has strong ties to storytelling, modern poetry, political movements, art, media, literature, post-modern performance, and monologue theatre, as well as jazz, blues, and folk music.

Due to its immediacy and direct rapport with its audience, this type of poetry often contains references to current events and issues relevant to a contemporary audience.

This will be the first one for The Queen! – A chance for any writers, poets, or anyone who wants a stage to vocalise their thoughts. The Mic is open to anyone.

Hosted by Braam Saget
